After focusing on a desaturated film look with my photography and editing I found myself unhappy with the end result and no longer enjoying myself as I created. I took a step back to really look at what drew me to concerts in the first place—the emotion, connection, the energy. I also looked at what made concerts different from other settings, beyond just the music—and it was movement, and color. In an attempt to edit in a way I thought people wanted, I had taken away the thing that made concerts special. So I started emphasizing color, I started incorporating a band’s identity into my editing, and I started loving my work again. Punchy, bold colors and unique, personalized post processing makes me stand out, and it’ll help you do the same.
